On the occasion of the 60th birthdays of Éliane Bécache, Anne-Sophie Bonnet-Ben Dhia, Christophe Hazard, and Eric Lunéville, we are organizing a workshop to be held from April 17 to 19, 2024, at ENSTA Paris.

With this event, we would like to highlight their scientific contributions to the mathematical and numerical analysis of wave propagation phenomena. We would also like to recognize their commitment to the teaching of applied mathematics at ENSTA Paris and their human qualities, which have played an important role in the development of the POEMS laboratory and of the  applied mathematics department UMA at ENSTA.

These researchers hold a prominent position in the international wave community, as evidenced by the success of the biennial Waves conferences to which they contributed significantly. They have worked on a wide range of topics, including the analysis of PDEs, numerical analysis, spectral theory, scattering theory, integral equations and high-frequency approximations. Many of their research topics have been motivated by applications in industry (Airbus, EDF, CEA, Thales, etc.) and other scientific fields (electromagnetics, acoustics, mechanics, etc.).
